Canada destroyed these guys last time around, but the team fielded a very different side. I think the prediction is a little too decisive, 1-0 Canada.

Post game – Very good show by Canada. Gerba looks to be producing as expected. Bernier off the bench to notch his first international goal; things actually look pretty positive going into this tourney.

The only player I’d really worry about for Jamaica is Jamal Campbell-Ryce. The speedy winger scored 10 times in 39 appearances for Barnsley this past season. Of course there are other notables such as Fuller and Shelton, but surprisingly no Marlon King.

I must say too Alex, I was also impressed, with Gerba especially. Nobody wanted to give this guy a chance and he proves himself on the national stage. Should be fun watching him in a TFC jersey in a few weeks. Hope he can continue with his current form.

I’m telling you this guy is efficient. He will be it for Canada with Jackson supporting him throughout the tourney. Johnson is maturing, but gets pushed off the ball too easily and needs a little more time to grow. Gbeke is a less talented, more fiery and slightly older version of Gerba, but still is a decent sub. Bernier is another good player but is probably 12th or 13th on the list. I really like Harmse, even though he’s a bit dirty. At least he plays with some balls and still has time to develop. I was unable to watch the match but saw that Cann made an appearance as well, which does not surprise me. Mind you, I think Hart played most of the squad except Hainault and Pozniak, much to my appreciation.
